Life Within Life.

A tiny life. (source:web)

“O Mankind! If ye are in doubt concerning Resurrection, then Lo! We have created you from dust, then from a drop of seed, then from a clot, then from a little lump of flesh shapely and shapeless, that We may make it clear for you. And We cause what We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed time, and afterward We bring you forth as infants, then (give you growth) that ye attain your full strength. And among you there is he who dieth (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the most abject time of life, so that, after knowledge, he knoweth naught. And thou (Muhammad) seest the earth barren, but when We send down water thereon, it doth thrill and swell and put forth every lovely pair of growth.”
Qur’an 22:5

And stop your twisted thoughts right there! No, I’m not pregnant! Haha!

It’s just that as part of my clinical requirements before I graduate next February, Insyallah, I was given the opportunity to be attached to an obstetrics unit to get hands-on experience to do a fetal ultrasound scan.

After a whole semester of studying still ultrasound images and a whole load of theories, being able to see a little life jumping about inside a woman’s womb was indeed overwhelming, at the same time wonderful. Allahu Akbar.

It made me realised of how I too, was created from dust, then a drop of seed, then to a tiny clot, and then to a lump of flesh.

And then I found this Hadith:
Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud, radiyallahu ‘anhu, reported:

The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, the most truthful, the most trusted, told us:

Verily the creation of each one of you is brought together in his mother’s womb for forty days in the form of a nutfah (a drop), then he becomes an ‘alaqah (clot of blood) for a like period, then a mudghah (morsel of flesh) for a like period, then there is sent to him the angel who blows his soul into him and who is commanded with four matters: to write down his rizq (sustenance), his life span, his actions, and whether he will be happy or unhappy (i.e. whether or not he will enter Paradise).

By the One, other than Whom there is no deity, verily one of you performs the actions of the people of Paradise until there is but an arms length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him, and so he acts with the actions of the people of the Hellfire and thus enters it; and verily one of you performs the actions of the people of the Hellfire, until there is but an arms length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him and so he acts with the actions of the people of Paradise and thus he enters it.

[Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.]

Go to Lollies Place for a more comprehensive write-up about the above-mentioned Hadith and watch some awesome videos.

Now, allow me to be awestruck………………..

Life is Awesome!

It made me fascinated as well; it makes your belief stronger when you find evidence about the stuff which were told to us by the almighty some 1400 years back… JAZAK ALLAH for this sharing.

  2. The Islam Papers says :

For another view on the interpretation of the Hadith “In every one of you, all components of your creation are collected together in your mother’s womb by forty days…” please read the following paper:

Human Development in the first 40 days
    http://islampapers.com/2012/05/01/40days/

This paper reviews the hadith of the Prophet which describes the embryo in the first 40 days (narrated in Saheeh Muslim and Saheeh Al-Bukhari).
