Salaam Ya’ll!

Wow!

What was that? A 9-months long sabbatical. If I was pregnant, a child would have been born. But of course I wasn’t. 😀

A lot happened in the past 9-months and as melodramatic as it sounds, it was a formidable one. Fine, that’s an exaggeration. Basically I was totally caught up with work and schoolwork – and more work. Shifting into 3 different departments in the past 9-months and the never ending assignments made me forgo my passion in writing. Both online AND offline.

But, Alhamdulillah, He still gave me the strength and opportunity to pursue my other passion – Nature.

“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.” An-Nur:35.
Gua Gelap, Dabong, Kelantan, Malaysia. 2012.

I have  managed to make mountain climbing/nature expeditions a yearly affair for myself. Syukrulillah. I just love the mountains, don’t you?

I gave my Salam to the mountain
And I drank from the mountain stream
And I walked upon its surface
And it all felt like a dream
And this mountain it is a Muslim
And I feel like he’s my friend
And as I climbed on to his peak
I wished it would never end

CHORUS:
Allahu Allahu Allahu
La Ilaha Ella Allah
We should be like the mountain
It never complains
We should be like the mountain
It praises God and never complains
We should be like the mountain
Like the mountain

I gave my Salam to the mountain
And I strive through the wind and the snow
And something caught my eye up in the sky
And I wished it would never let go
Cause this mountain it is a Muslim
And I feel like he’s my friend
And as I climbed on to his peak
I wished it would never end

Subhanaka Ya Allah
Glory be to You oh Allah

On this mountain I feel complete
And while I’m here to this mountain I will speak

Subhanaka Ya Allah
Glory be to You oh Allah

And thank God for this wonderful day
And I know the mountain feels the same way

Subhanaka Ya Allah
Glory be to You oh Allah

CHORUS

We should be like the mountain
An awe-inspiring Muslim
As it is
We should be like the mountain
Like the mountain

La Ilaha Ella Allah
There’s no God but Allah
Allahu Allah

So much lesson to learn from the mountains. From nature. Reminding me whenever I forget that…..

Life is Awesome!

About lyemoon.

I would like to travel the world and journey the footsteps of Ibn Battuta. I would like to be a zookeeper and tame the lions. I would like to sit at the edge of a cliff and bask in the sun. I would like to drink tea and read a book. I would like to sit and dream all day long.
